Problem with Internet Explorer 7.0 - Plugin 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I´m having an issue using Internet Explorer 7.0 with your Advanced Social Bookmarker Plugin for Joomla!, when i set on the plugin i receive the following warning:

"Internet Explorer could not open the site... Operation aborted"

That only happens with IE 7.0, also tested with Firefox, Safari, Chrome & Flock and everything works fine.

When i set off the plugin the warning never appears.

My site is: radicalmedia.mx

And the plugin is configured on the next menu option:
Radical media (blog de novedades digitales): It has 4 items, they are Categories on blog view, but the problem is in the article view on these categories.

I hope you can help me.

regards,
Gerardo

Hi Gerardo,
Thanks for the great instructions. I'm sorry it's not working for you. I visited your site & checked out several articles. I'll help you sort it out, but it appears to be another IE problem that's getting in the way. When I load up an article in IE7, all I see is the title, white bar with 'view comments' bubble, & the 4 badges from our plugin on the right side. There's no content.

IE displays the following errors:

Message: 's' is undefined
Line: 272
Char: 3198
Code: 0
URI: radicalmedia.mx/cache/js-d9a5ea9448e10dcfb0a0040a0bcb89de.php

Message: Object doesn't support this property or method
Line: 62
Char: 102
Code: 0
URI: radicalmedia.mx/cache/js-d9a5ea9448e10dcfb0a0040a0bcb89de.php

Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
Line: 0
Char: 0

URI: radicalmedia.mx/radical-media/blog-e-commerce/22-testing3.html

Can you try turning off js-d9a5ea9448e10dcfb0a0040a0bcb89de.php & see what happens? There might be something that's not closed in that file, that's causing problems in IE. The article actually looks the same in IE7 & IE8. Try turning off other extensions to see what happens. Turn off any "Rok" extensions. At first glance, it doesn't look like a conflict, but more like another extension isn't escaping some code. In the past, I've noticed Firefox can do it automatically, but IE can't. Let's see if that helps. Let me know the results.

I'm not sure what that .php file is, but it appears to be a collection of several .js files (???). Mootools, JCE, Squeezebox. Can you comment out the file so it doesn't load? The line in error (272) appears to be under JCE (which works fine on Prova.fm), but I don't know if I have your correct .php file.

Thanks,
-Guru

Hi Gerardo,

What I meant was turn off your other extensions/plugins to see what happens. Keep our AddThis plugin on. Especially the ROK extensions.

Thanks,

It looks great right now in IE7 & IE8.
What did you turn off?

There are still errors being reported with IE (granted, lots of popular sites show an IE error, yet still function correctly).
