Very creative! Thank you for your entry. Our previous logo actually had a book design in it as well. This might be a good follow-up to that. However, we're not sure if books are looked at as "old school" in today's Internet age. Perhaps we need a more modern look. This is definitely something we'll think about more deeply.. .

Well, I understand on the "internet age" comment, but books are iconic. Everyone sees a book as gaining some kind of information. Thank you for these new designs that depict the mountains, ocean, and sun They look very nice. We're not sure if we want Hawai'i to be emphasized or HEEA. There are pros and cons to both, but we are leaning toward HEEA to build name recognition.. .

This is a beautiful design and looks good just in blue as well. We're wondering if you could try to incorporate an unfurling fern rather than the plant currently being used. Could you give that a try?

We really like this design! It depicts the idea of networking and communication and it's cute! We like the font, too. However, the A looks a little distant from the other letters. Can you fix that somehow?

This is definitely a front-runner design for us. We're thinking of being able to isolate the two birds on the book as one version of the logo. A couple of things -- because we want to emphasize native birds, could you try the silhouette of an 'i'iwi and a kolea or Hwn stilt? We want one bird to be clearly smaller than the other to depict an adult-child relationship. You can see: www.hawaiiaudubon.com for bird images. Also, we're a little concerned about the detail in the book part and whether or not that would reproduce well. Is there something you can do to make it less detailed but yet clear that it's a book? Thank you!

Great! I think this is better but I'll check with our committee. However, it doesn't quite look like the birds are talking . . .could you tilt the iiwi's head up a bit so it looks like he's looking at the stilt? And could you try another version with the stilt on the right and iiwi on the left. It might lead the eye up to the H. Thank you.

Thank you for your designs! They all have a good feel. The horizontal logo may be a bit limiting but perhaps not. The biggest change we ask is that the flora and fauna shown be native to Hawai'i. Only one of the four (turtle) is. This comment applies to your other entries as well. Thank you!.!

This is nice but the turtle image is being used by a lot of other groups for logos and stickers. It is such a great symbol. Could you try something that gave the feel of mountains, water, and sun?

This one is really fun! We've got good comments from others. Could you try to make the black font a little more bold as we're concerned it may not show clearly. Also, we like the playfulness of the HEEA block letters and wonder if it's possible to make them slightly more playful. We'd like to see how that would look. Thank you.

Thank you for the revision. This seems to work better. However, the designs on the left and right aren't quite hitting the mark for us. We're wondering if a kapa (barkcloth) design might work. Are you familiar with those styles? That might give the sense of being tied to the Hawaiian culture, which is something we believe in.

It would be nice if Hawai'i was on the map, perhaps in the center, rather than having the focus on N and S America. Also, could you try other images than the hibiscus? Perhaps the 'ohi'a and koa? Wow, this is an awesome design! Very creative. We're wondering if you could replace one of the silhouettes with a "poi pounder" to connect our logo to the Hawaiian culture, which is important to us. Also, we're not sure what plant is represented in the H . . . we want to make sure it is native to Hawai'i vs invasive.

This design scored really high with our committee. We're concerned, though, that the some of the silhouettes will be hard to decipher when the logo is printed small. We don't want people being puzzled. One specific comment was to change the poi pounder to a taro leaf, which is closely tied to the Hawaiian culture. Another idea is to add an element representing people. Sorry for all these twists, but we do like your design and would like to see if another version will hit the mark. Mahalo

We received from helpful feedback from our committee. They really like this design but would like to see if you could take out the right side (monk seal montage) as it is too busy, make the letters less block-like with a slightly softer look, make the words below more readable (maybe not in one line?), and try the image of an unfurling fern frond on the left (hapu'u or ama'u) rather than the water ripple. The unfurling frond represents new life and growth. The water ripple is a nice symbol but it's getting a little lost. If you have time, another version of the water ripple that's less muted may work nicely. Sorry for the extra work but we would really appreciate another take. Thank you very much.

Very nice! Thank you for trying the hapu'u design. We really like it. Is there a way you can make the design look more two dimensional? Can you try some shading and/or use of another color? The font is a bit too blocky.
