Summary | Cover for the 2010 Hawaii Pork Report |
Deadline | 12/11/2009 |
Pay | $250 |
Advertisement Type | Print > Booklets |
Brand Name | 2010 Hawaii Pork Report |
Slogan | The Book Hawaii's Government Doesn't Want You to Read |
Industry | Non-profit |
What we do | We are a think tank/government watchdog. This is our second annual Pork Report exposing waste of taxpayer dollars in Hawaii. |
Details | We need the cover (front and back) of this year's Pork Report. The front should include the title (2010 Hawaii Pork Report), the slogan (see above), and the name of the two publishing organizations: Grassroot Institute of Hawaii and Citizens Against Government Waste. The back should include the names, logos, and contact information for the two organizations. Typically we like to include some image of a pig. (See last year's: http://www.grassrootinstitute.org/taxes-and-spending/2009-pork-report.) |
Technical Details | Four-color. When closed, last year's booklet is 8.5 in. tall by 5.5 in. wide. I would like to keep it this same size. |
Use Our Blank Template | |
Goal | We want the cover to entice people to read the book. In addition to serving as the cover itself, we would like to use the image on our website, promotional postcard, etc. Ultimately we'd like the quality of the Report itself to entice people to support our organization. |
Target Audience | Citizens of Hawaii, lawmakers, media. |
Unique Selling Proposition | As a think tank, many of our publications can be quite academic and technical--mainly intended for policy wonks. However, the Pork Report is meant to be a quick read that appeals to people of all ages, professions, and political persuasions. (Hence the smaller booklet design and playful look of it.) |
Message to communicate | The government is wasting your hard-earned tax dollars, and this book exposes how. |
Feelings to communicate | curiosity, injustice |
Customer motivation | anger (once they've read the book) |
Colors I like | |
Colors I don't like | |
Likes | Pigs because they convey pork, wasteful spending. Maybe something that identifies it as Hawaiian. |
Dislikes | Anything too cartoon-y that would keep it from being taken seriously. (Yes, I know that's difficult with a pig.) |
Start Date: | 11/20/2009 |
